02 / APPROVE & EXECUTE

Approve the exact effect. Keep the rest outside the boundary.

Make authorization a deliberate decision about a specific step, target and set of conditions—not a blanket approval of an entire AI-generated plan.

CONTEXT BEFORE THE NEXT STEP

Review the individual step

Inspect the proposed action, target, risk level, conditions and rollback information. Decide whether that specific effect belongs in the workflow before it can be executed.

02

Accept one action, reject another

In the synthetic delayed-order scenario, approve the warehouse task while rejecting the customer draft. The rejected draft does not inherit permission from the approved neighboring step.

03

Recheck policy at execution time

An approval is not a reason to ignore a changed permission or stale condition. Execution rechecks policy and uses deterministic controls before attempting the effect.

04

Keep retries controlled

Idempotent effects and visible failure states help the team distinguish an execution attempt from a completed result. Review an uncertain outcome before deciding how to proceed.
